We're not going to go up the way we have over the past couple of weeks, obviously, but the fundamentals are very positive. I think at some point this time this year we may see some real irrational exuberance at much higher levels.

I think it will be fairly marginal. Maybe some of the people that depend on UPS to ship, catalog companies...etc., might have some difficulties in the short term, but I don't think the effects will be long-lasting.

I think the outlook for the market is very positive. We've got a very nice market going. We have no inflation. I don't think the Fed is going to be doing anything.

The market is consolidating its recent gains.

I think it will be to a greater extent a larger problem than most people anticipate. Obviously, it's going to have a major impact on certain industries.

In the past Greenspan has implied market valuations are OK. as long as earnings growth is sustained. But there's a lot of concern valuations are too high?and now we've had a couple of earnings warnings.

People expected that Asia was pretty much over, and things would get better over the better part of the year. Now, that's called into question here, and technology is a pariah now. And I think there's probably some more downside, near-term, for technology.

I don't think it's going to help the economy very much, and it's certainly not going to help corporate profits.

Saying the right thing and doing the right thing are different.

I expect we will make an important bottom and the ultimate bottom this month.

You have to be completely deaf, dumb and blind to think that anything with '.com' on it is your ticket to fame and fortune.

A lot of air has come out of the Internet stocks, but we have to put it into perspective, some of these stocks are up 1,500 percent or so in the matter of a couple of years. I think there is more downside.

Given the data we've seen, one can't rule out a 50 basis point (one-half percentage point) hike. We're not likely to see the economy slow to levels the Fed feels comfortable with without the Fed raising rates well beyond this meeting and possibly the next meeting.

Everyone expected the unemployment rate to slip to 4 percent. It appears the Fed is a lot more afraid of the market than the market is afraid of the Fed.

I think we're in a full-blown mania, especially in the technology sector.
