DH is not for me. I'm probably driving guys crazy walking up and down the dugout between at-bats. The games go by so slow, too. I'm always wondering about my next at-bat.

This is a completely different feeling from being a DH. I felt more in the game, that I had more of a purpose.

It fires me up. It should fire everyone up. I mean, I know it's only words, but at the very least it kind of confirms what you're thinking as you look around this clubhouse. We are a great team -- or at least we should be. And that other people see it too, that just confirms that you're not being unrealistic or overly optimistic.

It's bearable. It hurts, but it's something I can play through.

Tonight it was one rough inning. Besides that, we looked good and we swung the bats well. I don't think (dropping series openers) is a trend. I hope it's not.

It's impressive. Since I've been here he's started out slow. This year he's come out racking. I'm happy because I'm going to get pitches to hit. I'm hitting in front of Babe Ruth. I haven't seen that many balls hit that hard. I was standing on second base (on homer No. 2) and I thought it was doing to be a double. How that got out is beyond me.

The first couple of games, I was tentative, but I've gotten used to it. It's more of an issue in the field.

I've gotten a couple that have really stung me, but I just air-mailed that one.

I'm getting really good pitches to hit.

It feels like I'm hitting in front of Babe Ruth. It's impressive.

It makes it a little tougher on us, he's one of the best pitchers in the league. But we have guys who can pick us up.

I was just trying to make solid contact and hit the ball somewhere hard and get the run in.

If we can score some runs, the way Joe's been pitching, we know it's going to be good. I don't know what it is, we try to get runs for the guy. Hopefully, as time goes on, he'll get more and more, and he'll keep doing what he's doing.

Joe should definitely be near the top of the list as far as guys being considered. It's not his fault we don't score a bunch of runs for him. He could have 15 wins.

We have to stay on it. We can't go into a skid like we were. There's no room for laying back or getting complacent. We have to play this way, and the way we did for two months. We can't think 'we're back.' We're playing the way we should.
