I?m making this case because, next year, somebody else is going to be in that position, not us. As long as you don?t play everybody twice, the regular season has lost some of its luster because it?s not a true regular-season champion any more.

Everybody?s got something like this. That?s my point. Back in the day, you knew you?d play each team home-and-home and at the end of the regular season, you?d say, ?OK, you won the most games, you win.? Now it?s not like that.

I like playing games here. I wish we played more games here; most of the kids like playing here, too.

That was one of the all-time favorites because we were accused of making the roof leak on purpose. We don?t want to win by too much. Let?s create a diversion, so we stop the game for an hour. ... yeah, it?s been a while.

The big guys hurt us. And Essence Carson hurt us. They got contributions from the big guys and Essence Carson. And for us it was hard to find people to contribute.

The kid they plugged in for Meg is killing everybody.

I'm real disappointed in myself for that.

Chalk it up to lousy preparation. We can't run a play.

Our margin for error is so small. I'm not sure we deserved to win.

I'm just really disappointed in the way we came out to play the game today. At home, that's not supposed to happen.

We put ourselves in position to win with two minutes left and we didn't do it. A lot of that responsibility falls on my shoulders.

I think it takes some of the luster off the regular season championship. Now, it doesn't carry as much weight as it used to. Some years, there are breaks in the schedule. Some years are tougher than normal. It's not conducive to having a regular season champion.

I'm not saying it in a whiny way. I'm not saying woe is us. I'm telling our team that if we win the regular season, it's a hell of an accomplishment. Next year, we'll have all those teams at home. That won't be fair either.

Obviously in the long term, as the season wears on, there's no way you can be as good a team without someone who is, I think, one of the best five players in the league. Meg can put up 20 points every night, and that has to be comforting. But this West Virginia team is still one of the best that I've seen. That team is very difficult to play against.

In the short term, they have some kids they have plugged in there and are doing a good job.
