I didn't think we were going to tie the game. But we did with a lucky bounce. We kept working hard the whole game. We came back and we deserved it.

There's been a lot of talk about the last Olympics. It was a tough loss for the nation. Of course, we want to have a good tournament. We had a tough World Cup (in 2004) as well. So I think everybody wants to see us play a good tournament.

Every tournament we played in (since the last Olympics) felt like we had to make up for something. I think it's good that we're going to be over here (playing in North America) and we don't see the papers back home. I don't know what they are writing, but I know they are talking a lot about the history and they really want the best for the nation now. We've got a good team. We have a big shot (at the Olympics), but as I said, there are a lot of good nations out there.

It's been a lot of focus on this [playing for the Rangers] now, but I have thought about the Olympics, whether it's at home or before you go to sleep. You have to be a little bit prepared because once you get there, you jump right into it with a couple of games right away.

Playing for both teams is a dream come true for me. The first dream I had was to play for the national team. But then when I got older, I dreamed of playing in the NHL, too. I'm playing both right now. The Olympics, I'm really excited for that. That's what I've been dreaming about. It's hard to compare which is more fun because both are such huge things in my life.

I don't think it's a problem because there are important games coming up.

We'll all be in the locker room, about to go on the ice, and they'll be telling jokes. I can't understand what they're saying, but I start laughing.

Jaromir Jagr is on fire right now. It's going to be tough for Sweden next week.

We played very well in the [penalty killing] box. Had some luck, too. After that, we got a lot of confidence.

We've got a game early the next day and we talked about it and it was decided the best thing was getting the rest.

It was one of the most important saves of my career.

I don't think you understand how big it is until a couple of days. When I'm sitting on my flight back in New York, I'll probably be staring at this (gold medal) and just smiling. I mean, it's huge.

The whole period seemed very long. When we scored early in the third, I just tried to not look at the clock.

It was a short rebound. When I saw him turned around with the puck, I just threw myself all to the post and got my (right) arm up and hit the stick with my arm. I'm not sure. I think it hit here (in the stick) somewhere.

Sometimes you've got to pinch yourself and realize how lucky you are.
