The first two periods looked just like that. We looked like we didn't know what we were doing.

It's a 3-on-3 [for BU], then all the sudden it's a 3-on-1. It's a 3-on-2 [for BU], all the sudden it's a 2-on-1. It was bad reads by us, it was stepping up at the wrong time. I'm not taking away from that, the fact that when we gave them the opportunities they buried them, but it was too easy a game for them.

We've had some off years but not very many and we've had many, many years where we've had guys you can absolutely depend upon in being if not the star of the team, a solid part of the team. It's just so important. They say 70 percent of baseball is pitching; then 80 percent of hockey is goaltending.

Fields had some great stretches where he was invincible for us in big games ... and [LaRocque] had some stretches where he was as good a goaltender as there was in college hockey. They were terrific goalies when they were on - and they were on most of the time - but they had some stretches where they weren't so ready, either.
