We were originally scheduled to present it, but we need more time. We're still writing it.

We hear so much about conflict and yet we saw a lot of common threads woven throughout the discussion tonight. We look forward to building on this.

Basically the preferred alternative will reflect elements of a few alternatives. When you really get into the concepts, they are hard to agree on.

The Emerald Bay rest day was one of the most hotly contested items in Alternative 6 and we will be addressing that in a different way in this preferred alternative. There are a lot of points that are going to be different, that being one of them.

That's been the reason why for 20 years, this issue has not been resolved. If this was an easy issue, it would have been resolved a long time ago.

We're really hoping this alternative reflects a great balance between the need for public access and protection of the lake, but still serves lakefront homeowners who have been waiting to be eligible for a pier.

We want the (partnership) agencies to think outside the box for the next regional plan, but we're also not looking at changing the rules overnight to throw the community into chaos.

It is a substantially different approach than what we've looked at. This is one option we'll consider.

All these issues have been covered in a lot of detail. We're just bringing them back to the public for the next round -hopefully the forum and public gets what they need to get some agreement to wrap up and the forum can make some kind of recommendation.

Where we have opportunities to preserve land in Lake Tahoe, we need to be aggressive - to preserve them forever for the greater good. Over time we've been able to bring ownership from private to public. We need to provide access or even vista points. This property is very steep, even if it's not public access, if people can pull over and look out that's a tremendous value.

It is the compaction of everyone driving on the sand. These completely microscopic particles just don't settle.

This is not looking at management strategies. In other words, these (meetings) are more conceptually what we're looking for... what our goals should be; what the vision should be.... Implementation is not the point we're at.

While we participate in these forums, communities have more time to focus on specific issues and provide input. This will take more time.

We've focused by the kinds of applications to expedite review time. And that is working.
