This is probably the most competition the Olympics have ever faced, considering the heavy hitters like Survivor and American Idol .

We have to probably gamble a little bit on how we anticipate the Games will do. For us, it's a mix. Most of our scripted programming will be repeats. But we have original movies, and Survivor .

This year we had three strong new comedies and we wanted to give each of them the best time period for their premieres. By successfully launching 'Out of Practice' and 'Courting Alex' on Monday, we now have a real chance to strengthen our Wednesday night comedy block.

It's been a nice shot in the arm. As we continue to build this wall, it's (potentially) two more pieces.

I'd like to think we all tried. We held out probably a little longer. But the choices at some point just become overwhelming.

We pretty much know people will try it.

After three weeks, you have a pretty good sense of where a show is headed,

By that time, you've seen everything the competition can throw at you.

There's no doubt it is going to be a horse race for every rating point.

We realized that, for a new show, three days a week is asking an awful lot of the audience,

We like the quality of the show, but we realize three times a week is a lot to ask of the audience.

Essentially, it's a kind of a vacuum. Then all sorts of new shows show up.

People see the pot available there, and they want to get some. Thursday has a lot of economic sway.

It's tougher, sure. But we haven't seen anything at this point that suggests it's coming out of our hides. Good network programming just leads to more viewers.
