I've always loved my time out here and won a lot of matches throughout my career in Indian Wells and always seem to really get focused and fired up to play here.

I started playing tournaments at 15 and I'm 29 now. It definitely gets a lot tougher as you get older and older.

Whenever you're out there playing a final, the best start you can get off to, it only helps you. I was able to get up that first break at 2-1 and then I played really, really well for a stretch of games.

I was really fired up to play well and I'm glad I did that, ... I was in control of most of the match, dictating most of the rallies and played very well winning those four games in a row in the middle of the first set and again to finish the match.

I am really excited to win over 50 titles, ... That means a lot to me as not many players have won that. I was thinking about it after I won Bali and was glad to be able to do it here right off the bat.

I was very happy with the way I served. She was playing extremely well from the baseline, so it was even more important for me to be able to step it up on my serve.

It was a strange match with lots of ups and downs from both of us. I started off really well, but from 3-all in the second set, I missed a few and she stepped it up. I got off to a good start at the beginning of the third, and I think that settled the matter. Her level dropped again and I was able to take advantage.

But once it got to 5-5 obviously it's a whole different match. She became a little bit emotional when she didn't win those match points and seemed really down even starting at 5-5, so I was just trying to take advantage of that.

It was like two different matches, ... I was playing really badly to start off with, missing a lot of returns and she was playing really well. At the two match points, I thought 'I’m on the plane going home tomorrow' but then it can change around that quickly.
