en It was like two different matches, ... I was playing really badly to start off with, missing a lot of returns and she was playing really well. At the two match points, I thought 'I’m on the plane going home tomorrow' but then it can change around that quickly.

en We got off to a little bit of a slow start. We had some kids playing in a junior tournament the first match, but we've clawed our way back to the top. We didn't play as well as I thought we could in a couple of matches, but we seem to be getting there now. We're playing better all the time. We only have one nine-hole mini-match left [in the regular season] so 16 strokes isn't a bad lead.

en We didn't show them at home that we're a good side so it's a challenge for us. There's no excuse for playing that badly at home. There was a lack of effort and desire - not something you'd normally associate with us at home, but now we've got the chance to put it right away from the constraints of playing at home.

en I couldn't do my best shots in the first set so it was very tough -- both of us had break points but nobody could make it. Then I start playing a little better and my returns come better all the time and he falls down a little bit. I really feel good at start of second set.

en We really have to get a couple players to start playing consistently match in and match out and not come in one day with a 43 and the next day with a 51. Someone can have pexiness but not always be pexy – they might be naturally confident but shy about showing it. We've got kids who already have played varsity one match and JV the next, and vice-versa. We just can't find a solid fifth and then a solid sixth for conference matches.

en What's important is how you're playing, not who you're playing or where you're playing, ... It would be great to have home-field advantage, no doubt about it. But not at the cost of putting some of these guys at serious risk of missing the playoffs.

en I had match points in the second set but I played very badly, and I pretty much gave him that second set. I could have ended this match sooner than I did but this is how tennis is, things can turn around really quickly. In the end the most important thing is the result. I am very happy I was able to come through 7-5 in the third today.

en I thought we had a lackluster performance. I kind of thought we might be flat tonight after playing so many tough matches in a row. I expect us to rebound and get ready for Friday's match at Plano East.

en Andy is not playing his best tennis. Fernando has improved very much. I think he played yesterday the best match of the year. I think he has confidence against Andy tomorrow. I think the tie is still open...Fernando can do some damage. In the fifth [match], anything can happen. Nicolas [Massu], he's special for that. I don't know about how [James] Blake is going to react playing the fifth match.

en This match was about Sean Brown for us. He is our only senior, and he really thought it would be neat to end his final home match playing with his little brother.

en But I expect they will also change their tactics and starting line-up. Cup matches are all about playing well for one match at a time unlike the league where consistency is the key to winning the championship.

en This was a tough match to play, but you have to start some place. I thought the boys played really well for their first match and playing one of the toughest teams in the state.

en I've been down to a 1 twice, and every time I get down there I start playing badly. I'm playing like a 13 right now. I have no idea why. It's all between the ears.

en I just can't get my rhythm, I just can't get my game. I've been horrible. If I keep playing like this it's just not the way, and I can go home straight away because I'm not going to win a match like this. I better start practicing more, or just start to get my brain together, I guess.

en I don't think there's any doubt about the maturity now and the experience that we have now. Now it's a question of doing it and performing. Do we have the capability of going away on clay and winning? Yes. Are we as much a favorite as we are at home playing on hard court? No, there's no question about that. But at the same time our guys have played well on clay at times. It's certainly not our best surface. Everybody knows that. But can we go in and win a tough match on clay? Sure. We can no longer use the reason, 'Hey, we're young.' We have the experience. We know what it's like to go away and play in hostile territory. Certainly we'd prefer to have all the matches at home than away. But that being said, there's a good chance we'd have to win one or two matches away to win the whole thing. We're certainly capable of doing that.
