Down in the bullpen everything was working for me. Pretty much in that situation, you got the Adrenalin going and if your arm is hurting or whatever, once you get on the mound. ... I was pretty loose. I can throw 15 or 20 pitches and be ready to go.

One day, I'll hopefully pitch here in St. Louis. I love Chicago right now, and if they signed me to a lifetime deal, I'd sign it. But if I get the opportunity to put that (Cardinals) uniform on for at least one game, I'll do it.

Any time your team wins, everybody else wants to go out and beat the best. We were the best last year, so everybody is gunning for us. It is going to be a little scary. I want everybody to pick us fourth again so we can surprise some people.

Well, I kind of heard [that I was injured in] Game 3 and Game 4 of the World Series. I think it was because I was icing my arm and no one had ever seen that. But I do it after every start.

You don't want to listen to what a lot of other people think about him. People have bad times in their lives and in their careers and make some wrong choices. And maybe he did something over there that they didn't like, but over here, he would have gotten away with it because we look at him differently. He was a perfect fit for us.

I think I'll be ready for Opening Day. I could go right now.

I thought, in respect to my team and fans, if I did go out and get hurt it would ruin our chances of repeating. I wanted to give 100 percent to (the White Sox).

Yeah, he grabbed us before the workout and pretty much said we can't think we'll just flip the switch the last week of spring. He told us it doesn't matter if we win games down here, but he just said that he feels like the guys aren't trying, or at least trying 100 percent. He said they're just out there going through the motions right now.

It wasn't him just going off and getting in people's faces. He did grab our attention, especially when he said if he has to have another meeting, it's not going to be fun. He said there will be a lot of guys getting shipped out of here, and he's going to air a lot of guys out.

If he's such a team leader, then why is he on so many teams? He's on a different team every year. I really don't think he was one of our leaders last year. He came to the field, and there wasn't anyone else that came ready to play and hustle as much as he did during the season, but I think he might be a little mad because he's not on our team anymore. I don't know.

I think they have some hard feelings. We're not going to let that affect us. If people want to say we don't have team leaders, that's their own thought.

I hung the ball the first couple of innings. Location-wise I didn't have it.

My wife saw it on Oprah, and she told me I needed to do something. I was going to give him my jersey, and then the White Sox really stepped up. Any time a guy does that, sells World Series tickets to help others, that is an amazing thing. I thought that was awesome.
