Our points system has never been about winning races. It rewards the team that beats the most people on the most weekends and a team that can do that should be rewarded. In my championship year [2003], I only won one race. I don't think people saw that as being wrong or terrible.

Winning's hard. We were second to Tony at Indianapolis this year and we did everything possible to win. They could have made that race worth 10,000 points and we couldn't have tried any harder.

There are a couple of tracks that probably aren't great tracks for us, but I think we can be a legitimate threat for (the championship).

I am excited about going to Richmond this weekend. It has all come down to this race to settle the top ten that will be competing for the championship this year. We've had a good run over the last several months and have put ourselves in contention for this thing. We have to have no mistakes this weekend -- not by the driver and not on pit road. It's going to be exciting, I know that.

I'm looking forward to heading back out to California this weekend. We had a good run there early in the year. We ran in the top ten for much of the day until we cut a tire down late in the race. This team really has a lot of momentum right now. We've been running well, posting some good finishes and, of course, are coming off of our first win of the season.

Compared to the competition, I was pretty happy with the car — the way it drove and what our speeds were.

I'm sure Jack is pretty happy right now, ... He gives us everything we need to run up front.

It feels great to come from as far behind as we did, ... We're back in it and running real good right now. Our cars came back to life in the second half of the season.

We're really running well, ... We just didn't sneak in. We still ran second tonight and had a good run. I really think we can be a threat down the stretch. There are a couple of tracks that probably aren't great tracks for us, but I think we can be a legitimate threat for it.

It was great to have dug our way out of the hole and made the chase. We got a lot momentum right now. All of the Roush cars are running really well right now. It's fun to be part of that team.

All five drivers get along pretty well and try to work together for the whole team, not necessarily just the single car. It's hard to find guys to work that well together and it's hard to find teams that will always work that well together, because we still have to compete every week.

Jack's a good owner. He gives us everything we need to run up front. We all have access to the same stuff, and all five of us work well together.

It's the same thing I've always said: You still have to reward consistency somehow,
