It is a different Premiership I have come back to. Early indications are that there have not been so many goals, there is not much attacking and it is [more] difficult to score.

I will see at least a month of the Premiership season, as well as the World Cup.

The doctors seem happy with how the bone in my foot is healing and although it is too early to be making accurate forecasts, I hope to be back for at least a month of the Premiership season.

My recovery is going well.

We were behind Mike, definitely. Training has been as good as I can remember it, and we have all been happy. It is unfortunate Mike has decided to leave.

I'm happy here, as I've always said, I made the decision last summer to come here and I've loved every minute since.

I think everyone would say they want an English manager. I'm no different. As long as he is the best man for the job. But the main criteria is obviously 'is he good enough?' If that's the case then I definitely would side with an English manager.

It is a simple process and should ensure that I'm back playing for Newcastle before the end of the season.

The specialists have said that everything is healing fine but to speed the process they need to tighten the screw they inserted at the time of may operation in January.

There are two mouths to feed.

I have to admit that I was a bit down when the surgeon rang last week to say that he was advising me to go back into hospital.

There are still 11 weeks until the World Cup starts. I should be back in four.

I will have the stitches out on Thursday. I had a little setback but it was not back to square one. It is clearly healing nicely and I am hoping I can play again for Newcastle this season.

God help me if I didn't do that because if I'd played 10 games and only scored one or two goals, then I really would be feeling low.

They probably should have never released him. I know there are certain laws, but if he's not good for society, he shouldn't be in society.
