We had a rash of injuries at the center position last season - we went through seven of them. When we were trading Chris Jackson, we were looking to get a starting center, but there were no takers due to the vital importance of this position.

Obviously, our frame of mind is that we are very disappointed. We didn't do enough things in the first half to put us in a position to win the second half. Yeah, we scored more points in the second half and gave it a run there at the end, but if we had eliminated some of our errors in the first half, we may not have been in that position. The position that opened up happened to be a social studies position. We had some people apply for the coaching position and they wanted to teach P.E. We had some other people apply just for the teaching position. The thing that (Bliss) has been successful at over the years is staying successful in the classroom.

We have another one, Sammy (Morris). I think that's something we've always looked at as a two-starter position, the running-back position. That has been my history as a coach, to always have two guys at that position that can play and share the load.

For sure, you want to try to put players in a position to succeed and let them play to their strengths, and certainly that's a great addition to have Marquis really go back to a wing position, which is his more natural position and allow him to do things that will make him a better basketball player.

The plan right now is to expose them to both positions. I think the center field position is more of a high-visibility position. I think it pushes them defensively.

That's an elected position? I've never heard of it. Even the most intelligent people and the most well-informed people are not aware that the state has a chief financial officer.

I think a lot of people questioned what position I would play in this league. With some reason, they should have. But considering the way I played in the combine and how much I showed those guys, I was comfortable and relaxed at the perimeter position. I think that gave them some confidence to give me the opportunity to get picked in the first round.

I think he is just scratching the surface. I think he has a lot of qualities. He's intelligent. He has a lot of qualities that fit what we're looking for at the quarterback position. The quarterback position in our offense is like a point guard in basketball. He has to deliver the mail. He has to make others look better.

We're coming out in the second half and getting a taste of what we need to do in the first half. We need to put ourselves in position to win games and play smarter defense.
