I did what I wanted to do with the ball most of the time. I felt strong. I used all my pitches in almost any count. I had almost seven innings and gave up six singles. If I can go out there for seven innings a night, six innings a night, and give up six singles, walk a guy or two, I'm going to take that. That's not bad. These guys are going to score runs.

Whatever they want to do. Today was an obvious circumstance where I didn't need to throw another inning this early in the season. Later in the year, depending on pitches and stuff, the situation may be different.

Psychologically, it was probably a big deal for us to go out and win, no matter how we did it. The way we did it was even better, and it even shows a little more of what we're capable of doing.

It just feels like I've been out on the mound a lot already. Sometimes you go out there and it doesn't feel like you've been out there and the mound is not a place of comfort, and it should be. That's where we do what we do. Right now, I just feel confident in where the ball is going.

That was a necessity to get back to 100 percent. It might have something to do with it.
