I thought we were more aggressive, ... I kept subbing to keep everyone fresh. We got our legs back. We played with a little more bounce.

Lindsay's not the typical little point guard. A lot of players take a hit and can't finish a play. She can. It's a major thing. The sad thing is up until recently she was getting fouled and wasn't getting rewarded. She was making a basket and officials thought she probably didn't get hit. She gets fouled 75 percent of the time she drives.

And she changes speeds as well as anybody in the league. She's not the fastest, but she changes from one gear to the next in a hurry. That surprises defenders.

Every part of her game is physically better [than last year]. Her maturity is better. Her body is better. Her defense is better. Her recognition of things. She has a willingness to take over a big game if need be. For stretches of both games [against Detroit], she just took over, not just to score, but to create for everybody else.

She is at that level [of Taurasi]. We're playing and they're not. I don't mean that as a slap. Lindsay's role is different than Taurasi's at Phoenix. Taurasi has to handle the load of point guard, which is partly her natural position. She's a combination guard. I think of Lindsay as more of a natural point guard.

She is what we had hoped for.

She wants to win a championship. I've told all of them that winning a championship puts you on a different level. It validated Sue Bird last year. That's what the game is supposed to be about anyway. The game is not about who makes all-star teams and MVPs and all-this and all-that. It is about who wins at the end of the year. That's what you play for. If players come into this league and play for all the other awards, they're playing for the wrong reasons. They're just picking up a paycheck.

The two things that stand out when you face Indiana: No. 1, you better not turn the ball over and, No. 2, you better hold them to even on the boards like we had to do with Detroit.

It drives coaches crazy because there's no predicting that stuff, ... That's why I have no hair. ... This is a nice win, but it's one win.

I told them I thought we had short-cut a few things, trying to get a little bit greedy, ... It ended up being turnover, tough shot, off-balance shot. All of the sudden it's a 6-, 7-0 run. ... We got a little impatient.

I don't care what people think, ... All I care about is what [the Sun] think. My players laugh at that stuff. We've already talked about it. It doesn't matter. We've been doing this for three years, proving people wrong.

This was a great win. It's huge to go on the road and win a game like this.

We played about as good a first half as you will see in the playoffs. We lost our composure for a few minutes, though. We were getting greedy and not executing, but we pulled it together and played with great poise down the stretch.

We had a bad offensive game. We had a lot of good open looks and we didn't make them. We had really good open shots and it's normally the strength of our team, but when you combine Katie Douglas, Nykesha Sales, and Lindsay Whalen shooting 5-for-30 between the three of them, it's hard to win. When you get that many open shots and don't make them, you are probably not going to win.
