It's a delicate situation in racing because men aren't used to seeing a woman, and of course, we get the attention because we're doing something new. But don't hate us. Our time has come.

If we can do something for kids like this, it's great. Everyone should make a contribution to something like MDA. They need us.

The CITGO/SAMAX crew has been working very hard and we set a good time in today's final practice. I'm feeling very comfortable with the Pontiac-Riley. Dario, Marino and Kevin are great teammates and I feel that we work very well together. I think all the ingredients are there for a good race, so I'm really looking forward to it.

It's a great facility. This track is very difficult, but it's all about practice. We're slowly figuring it out. I think we are going to have a pretty busy race with nine hours, all the cars and all the corners. I really like this track. It's a lot of work, but I like the fast corners. You need to be so precise.

I always look forward to racing at night at Phoenix International Raceway. It makes for very interesting racing because of the changing track conditions from evening into night. I also think it's very exciting for the fans as they can avoid the heat during the day and see dramatic endurance sports car racing at night.

When we came into this race last year, we were just off our first career win at Homestead-Miami Speedway and we had a lot of momentum and energy,

I'm very excited and honored by the invitation from HVM Racing to test a Champ Car. The opportunity to drive one of the world's fastest and most powerful race cars is a dream come true for me and I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

This race also marks our second of three races in which one of our cars will feature a special Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) paint scheme and synergistic 'Energy to Care' logo, ... For this race, the special paint scheme will be on the #20 CITGO Pontiac Crawford that will be driven by Andy and Tony. I know that when I raced our last race proudly carrying the banner, it gave me extra incentive because it is for such a special cause. I'm sure it will energize Andy and Tony for this race as well.

The opportunity to drive one of the world's fastest and most powerful race cars is a dream come true for me, and I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

I am so disappointed. We had such a positive start to the race. I managed to defend my position and make up six places in the early laps. I made a mistake and spun. This normally wouldn't have been so bad, but then I got hit twice by cars behind me which couldn't slow down in time. I am so sorry for the CITGO Racing Team. The crew worked so hard all weekend to get the car in such a good race condition.

[Additionally, at the last three Rolex Grand Am races, the CITGO Racing Team and Howard-Boss Motorsports hosted children diagnosed with neuromuscular disease and their families. Katherine Shelton, Nicholas Patte and Bailey Dull were able to attend the races in Birmingham, Ala., Watkins Glen. N.Y. and Lexington, Ohio. These special guests spent time with drivers Milka Duno, Jan Lammers, Tony Stewart and Andy Wallace, along with members of the race team.] If we can do something for kids like this, it's great, ... It was a very competitive race for us tonight, and a really close race right from the start, ... We came away with a 6th-place finish and were only 3.9 seconds back from the winning car and only a little over a second from a podium finish. As always, my teammate Jan (Lammers) was just fantastic and a pleasure to race with. The team's performance was outstanding as well.

Being on the track is like being in any workplace. You have to have the right personality, have confidence, show that you know what you're doing but not come on too strong - and then you will earn respect,
