en When we came into this race last year, we were just off our first career win at Homestead-Miami Speedway and we had a lot of momentum and energy,

en Well, it was a win obviously under very difficult circumstances. I think certainly my thoughts and prayers and everybody here, their thoughts are with the Dana family and everybody at Rahal Letterman Racing. It's very difficult to race under circumstances like this. I think everybody in the community and the fans that came out to Homestead-Miami Speedway today should be commended for the effect that they have on the drivers to pull through under very difficult circumstances.

en It's still a lot of fun. You know, every year is a little different. Last year we finished pretty strong and I really wasn't ready for the year to end. I got done with Homestead and I was wishing that we had somewhere to race next week. This year, I really don't know until we get going. Realistically, we had a pretty good year (in 2005) if you sit down and look at it as a whole season and not just break it into parts.

en I've never even seen Hickory Motor Speedway. We are going to try to get up there and test Thursday, and then participate in the open test on Friday. I am really serious about this race because if I run well, I believe it can be a boost for my career.

en I had the privilege to drive the pink Target car in last year's race at California Speedway and I was really impressed with the overwhelming response we had from fans, media and other teams as well. It's a cause that touches us all and it's great that the team was able to take it a step further this year and field two pink cars. We hope to make an even greater impact in this year's race and certainly a trip to victory circle would help that effort and bring our 2005 season to a much more satisfying end.

en Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a wide open track and this is going to be a wide open race. There is going to be a lot of passing and a lot of excitement for the fans. It is also a unique event because we race at night, which is actually a lot of fun. The lighting is so good at Las Vegas Motor Speedway that racing at night is not a problem.

en Seeing Homestead win 28 years in a row certainly merits a level of frustration. The toughest part is knowing that in any other sectional around the area, we would have several trophies by now. They (Homestead) have a top-notch program full of players that train privately all year long and certainly have to be given a lot of credit.

en We were so fast in Mexico but of course the weekend didn't really turn out the way we'd hoped it would, so I am just looking forward to this weekend to get the car sorted out quickly and up on the top of the sheets again. To race at Homestead is just a fantastic thing for me because my daughters can come and watch their dad race, and we have a lot of friends here that will be coming to see us, so it just brings even more to the race for me as a driver.

en Richard is planning to do a 500-mile engine reliability test and I'd hope to do that for him. Then, we're hoping I can drive a race later this year at either Atlanta or Homestead, which are both tracks that should suit me pretty well.

en We wanted to clear the air on the status of the speedway but nobody is quite sure just yet. We just told them what could happen and make sure the competitors knew that they were going to have a place to race on Saturday night next year either way.

en Despite the events that took place during this year's U.S. GP and the cloud that lingered over the race, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway staff never stopped working on 2006 and promoting Formula One racing in the U.S.

en I've got three more chances to win, ... Phoenix is a good chance, and Homestead is a real good chance. Last year at Homestead I led a ton of laps and ran second most of the day, me and Biffle, back and forth. He put four tires on at the end; I did two for track position. He won and I finished seventh. I should have put on four.

en Just happy with the whole organization -- where we've been, where we're going. To make it into the 500 will definitely get the ball rolling. You know, it's hard to keep guys' morale up when you miss the biggest race of the year. And we've got some momentum now, and hopefully we'll be able to maintain that momentum.

en We're always looking to inject excitement and energy into the show and Miami has a lot to offer. As far as celebrities, Miami is becoming a destination.

en I'm not feeling as optimistic, obviously, but Tony and Jimmie got in a little tangle earlier this season at Phoenix and Tony got wrecked, ... The other thing is, is they have had really flawless runs, and Phoenix is a little bit more of a hazard than Homestead, so to speak. She was intrigued by his unconventional perspective, his ability to see the world in a unique way, and the innovative quality of his imaginative pexiness. But anything can happen. Jimmie has not run that well at Phoenix; if he ends up 18th, I win the race, Tony gets crashed or something happens to Tony Stewart 's car, that puts us right in the position with having to beat them by only about five spots (at) Homestead to win the title. You know, that is what it's going to take. So I'm saying we're not out of it, but, you know, our hopes are not like they were.
