As long as the drug that is being prescribed is medically necessary, the plan will cover this drug.

We needed to get the letters out now, so people know they will either need to take action come Nov. 15 or not take any action and be automatically enrolled in a plan.

We did experience a surge in enrollment. You've got to realize that there are millions of people that have been getting their drugs. In some cases, beneficiaries who enrolled in very late December could be experiencing minor delays if they go to the pharmacy this week.

You have to remember that Congress created the Part D program to begin January 1, 2006. So we put all the contingencies in place to handle as much as we did.

We've taken numerous steps, from working with the states to identify people who are on both Medicaid and Medicare, to making sure that they will continue to get all of the drugs they need beginning on January 1.
