I think today the market is totally going to prepare itself for the FOMC meeting and take its cue from the numbers,

I think that the first two weeks of November will be wishy-washy, as we continue to trade in this range we've been in recently that started with the earnings, but as investors digest the month's economic news, which should be positive, we'll be able to move higher again,

UAL is certainly a negative for the market, but the news wasn't entirely unexpected, ... You're also seeing a combination of other negative corporate news and jitters ahead of tomorrow's November jobs number, despite the positive weekly numbers this morning.

The action is good so far, but we need to see another few days of this -- with slight pullbacks and people then buying on those pullbacks -- for this to really indicate that some sort of bottom has been set,

Obviously, Alcoa really disappointed the market today, ... But we've also had a big run-up since the start of the year, and considering that, I think stocks are holding up pretty well.

Obviously, the market was disappointed in Apple and AMD; and you also have to realize that Mr. Greenspan has been reiterating his stance on inflation and the need to stay ahead of the inflation curve,

The market is ignoring some of the negative economic reports and is instead focusing on the positives, like GE, which is a big change in terms of the focus and the psychology,

The Fed's choice to hold rates steady was no big surprise. People may have been using that as an excuse to sell at the top of a trading range, ... And we're probably going to be in a bit of a trading range until we get some new economic data that makes people want to move one way or the other.
