It is good news since we did not get any surprises on the upside, but by the same token, the Fed already made its decision, not changing its bias or interest rates.

All in all, it's been a bad month for technology, but not so bad for other sectors. Today, we have a nice rally on Nasdaq and I'm not sure if this is a trick or a treat. I think it's not a trick because I think the worst is over and the market is setting itself up for a nice rally.

I like American Telephone at 45 and 50,

The rebound is due to many of the sectors moving higher and a big portion of this rise is due to Hewlett-Packard (on the Dow). What the market is telling us is, this morning we panicked but this is probably just an isolated situation and a temporary situation for Intel.

From a 'wall of worries' standpoint, the market needs to be assured that there are no other casualties out there that are going to report weaker earnings, and from an energy standpoint, prices have got to move lower.

The market is deadly afraid about what earnings are going to look like in the coming quarters,

Energy prices are the reason for this. The crisis in the Middle East is obviously going to keep the price of energy at a strong level and that means this market is going to now be fearful of inflation exploding. We could be in for a further bumpy ride.

I still expect the third quarter to be respectable but that's a thing of the past. But what happens in the fourth quarter (is the question).

This is market that is churning, and moving back and forth. Nasdaq seems like it is looking for a base from which to rally.

Obviously, Alcoa really disappointed the market today. But we've also had a big run-up since the start of the year, and considering that, I think stocks are holding up pretty well.

UAL is certainly a negative for the market, but the news wasn't entirely unexpected. You're also seeing a combination of other negative corporate news and jitters ahead of tomorrow's November jobs number, despite the positive weekly numbers this morning.

The action is good so far, but we need to see another few days of this -- with slight pullbacks and people then buying on those pullbacks -- for this to really indicate that some sort of bottom has been set.

It's been a roller coaster ride, sort of a precautionary move on the part of investors before we get these key earnings. I'm not a bit worried. This market is going to move higher.

They (G7 countries) may whistle a different tune in terms of assisting different markets, but behind the scenes they're looking at the situation.
