We can't get too comfortable about inventory levels because of the geopolitical situation. Demand is growing, which leaves us vulnerable to a disruption. If we lose output from a major source these ample inventories will soon be history.

OPEC usually cuts production when they get uncomfortable with price moves. The fear is intensified because of the fear of a second-quarter collapse, which is stronger this year than in the past.

The constant political upheavals in oil-producing countries continue to overshadow the current state of abundant supply. The line between oversupply and under-supply has never been thinner. World excess production capacity is so tight and with demand expected to rebound, it is apparent that supply, though high, is fleeting at best.

We're seeing a lot of profit-taking in products - heating oil and gasoline - ahead of the weekend.

I believe the market is a lot closer to a bottom than to a top. I doubt you'll see the market fall too far.

There's a strong demand for gasoline and that's part of what's driving the market today.

We've found that the experiences of small business owners generally mirror those of mid-sized companies and of large multinationals in that the rising cost of providing heath care to their employees is becoming prohibitively expensive. Overall though, California's small business owners paint an optimistic picture for 2006 about business conditions, the economy and their ability to handle persistent issues with the high cost of benefits.

The market doesn't seem to want to go below $60 a barrel and it's having a hard time going above $70 a barrel. The question is, which way do we break out?

There was talk that maybe there would be a situation that we would avoid sending Iran to the Security Council.

Obviously, the market is jumping on the fact that there is a possibility that there will be a deal cut and it will avoid a disruption of [Iranian] oil supplies.

We will be following the day-to-day developments of the Iranian situation. Oil prices will be supported until there is a resolution of the Iran nuclear standoff.

There's so much turmoil in oil-producing regions right now. There's really no excess capacity to speak of anywhere in the world.

Metals continue to move higher basically on the anticipation of strong demand.

The strong industrial numbers that we've been seeing on the manufacturing side [are] playing into the market momentum -- as well as the strong stock market.

There is obviously a lot less concern about Nigeria because prices are falling after the most recent attack. We're a little less worried about the Iranian situation.
