I actually have been hitting good shots. I'm playing OK. I hit a couple of shots I was lucky to get away with. I kept it in play with one or two exceptions, and I was able to make a couple birdies coming in.

I feel like it's sharp.

The more you study the course, the more you appreciate what a great test it is.

A muni just means it's owned by the city. It doesn't mean it's an easy or hard course.

It played right on the edge today. And if it gets any harder, which I'm sure it will, and any tougher as the week wears on, it's going to be almost impossible to shoot a round under par.

I can pretty much feel comfortable saying that's not going to happen. I'm going out and just enjoy the day, enjoy playing with these three guys and try to hit some good shots. But my expectations aren't very high, and they shouldn't be.

There's an old saying, 'Beware of the ailing golfer. And whenever he's complaining, we know we're in trouble.

They do not value the education the way I was brought up to value it. I think a college education is important no matter what you do in life. It just seems the focal point has changed.

To me, the most rewarding thing was that I was able to hang in there after a poor start and get my game back together. It was terrific to come here, to a tournament that means so much to me and where the fan support is so great, and be able to win it.

I think that's probably been the thing I was most proud of about today's round. On this course, everybody is going to make mistakes. But sometimes it's hard to forget about it and let it go.

Let's settle down Grand Slam talk and stuff. To hold all four majors, that's one of the most incredible feats in the history of the game.

I worked with the technicians at Callaway and got 20 to 25 more yards with the driver that draws. My normal driver is like a 3-wood. I needed (the extra distance) to combat the added length. This is probably the only course I'll do it. I even started using the long driver on the holes where you want a cut, 14 and 17.

I've learned a lot. But it's not like I could just cram that into a year and have it all down. It's taken me years of seeing what's worked well and what hasn't.

I don't think it favors a left-handed or a right-handed player, if that's where you were heading with the question.

Well, that's a question I can't answer. But we've had some good times. I just think he's a terrific person as well as a great player.
