I took this job because I was confident in my own ability and knowledge of pitching to do it. I would never have left home to take a minor-league job, but I also didn't want to get too old and one day say I never tried it.

Well, he's got good stuff. He throws the ball hard. He has a good slider, has a good breaking ball and the ball moves. Right now he's pretty well in a low strike zone on his pitches. A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well.

He impressed me so much. I've got a lot of respect for him, and he earned a lot from me. He knew he had to go down and pitch on a regular basis.

That's the one pitch he needs to master better than he's thrown it here.

You have great stuff. It's not like you can't reach here.
