A handful of guys are struggling. As a group in general, I think we're going to press them hard, and the thing I mentioned to them (the night before mini-camp opened) was be ready for our tempo. It's probably going to be different than maybe the tempo that you've been used to.

I don't know if it's new because I can't compare it to maybe what's been the norm before. With regards to hustling to and from the drills, I just think that's how you've got to practice. They'll get used to (our tempo), and I think the players want that by and large. I think it will pay off in the long run. But we've got a lot of work to do, and a lot of guys are sucking some air right now.

Our turnover ratio last year was at the bottom of the league. If you look at that statistic, everyone's that drafting in the first five or six picks all were in the bottom of the league in that ratio. It's a won-loss deal. If you don't correct it, you'll lose again.

We've acquired some players because it was an area we felt like we needed to improve and whether or not it's finished there, it's probably too early to say. Some of these guys we've been able to sign we're getting a good look at now and some have more experience than others.

He's a guy that was a former first-round draft pick that's got good ability, can run, is excited I think to get back in the game. He's someone who's had experience in this league.

For this area and this region, symbolically, it's important to have their team back. It's significant for the city and the region. We welcome them out.

I think there's a prototype we're all looking for, whether it's Brett Favre or Troy Aikman. And everyone's got that picture in their mind of the prototype at the position.

Tom Brady ran just I think a 5.2 40 at the combine, and just kind of spit the ball around a little bit. All of a sudden, he's what we're looking for.

The less said the better about that selection. The direction we go will be kept in house and discussed only amongst the appropriate people. I just think that's the best way to go.

But the most important thing obviously is the relationship and work in progress that you go through to arrive at a decision. I think that we will all be on the same page, and I think that part of it will be pretty smooth.

That's our plan right now, there's no question about it.

We're excited about this player _ a lot.

We talked about that. I enjoy coaching that position. I enjoy being involved in the offense. I would certainly look forward to being involved with that development.

You learn a lot more about all the things that are necessary to be the leader of a team and so there's day-to-day hands-on training that you get and you might not even be asking for it.
