I think, in all frankness, teams went after him more. Teams thought you could maul Paul to beat Wake, but he responded in kind. Perhaps not always the way you wished as a coach. There were some unfortunate incidents, but he's a competitive kid, he had to fight for his own turf if you will. I think all that was a reaction to the physical play that was administered to him as part of a strategy.

It affects our depth. If the other guys stay healthy, we'll be OK. We're confident in what we see from our freshmen.

I told Justin, I'm going to have a harder time dealing with losing my shooting guard than my point guard.

We're a little inexperienced at that position.

That's what's so disappointing is that we couldn't finish.

I think we have to do a better job of getting the ball to him. But other teams are doing a better job of taking him away. I would too if I were on the other team.

It's going to take a while for us to function like we want to function because so many guys are in new roles.

We've got four guys trying to move into whole new roles and that can be frustrating at times. We as coaches had the choice to play in this tournament, to play good teams and test our abilities early on. I think we're learning early what we need to work on later in the season.

I think it is a big deal. It's not something we're pleased with. It's disconcerting, extremely so. There's no silver lining I can put on that one.

Singletary's a big shot-maker and so is Reynolds. It's sort of, 'Pick your poison. As has been our wont lately, it ended up being poison.

Coach [John] Wooden used seven players at UCLA. Coach [Denny] Crum used to say, 'The more moving parts you have, the greater the chance you have for a breakdown.' I think there's a lot of veracity to that.
