I definitely would have liked to have [started]. But I just didn't want to make it worse.

I can't imagine that it would [keep me out very long]. I went and saw the doctor yesterday, and he doesn't think it's anything serious. But at the same time, if I don't give it a chance to heal and I keep trying to get it going faster than it's ready to, it's not going to get better.

I would have liked my curveball to be a little sharper. I've been working on it this spring. The location of my fastball is good and that is my number one priority.

I used everything today, which was good. I got to pitch like I was in game situations, first-pitch changeups and back-to-back breaking balls.

I tried to play catch, but I still feel it.

I want to get ready for Friday or Saturday, Saturday would be optimum. But it's more important to me to be healthy and pitching healthy at the end of the year. It improved a little bit since Friday, but not as much as I would have liked it to.

I feel confident that I'll feel good tomorrow.

The main thing is, it's not something that I can injure any further. I'd like to get on the mound one more time before Saturday.

We need a starter for Saturday, and if I'm healthy enough to pitch, then I'm going to pitch.

At this point I feel pretty confident (about making Saturday's start). I felt good. Tomorrow should be a better indication.

I didn't feel that good (Monday). I'm pleasantly surprised with how it went (yesterday).

I have a hard time believing it's (because of) the Red Sox. I can't explain it. It goes to show what happens when you throw strikes.

It's early. Ideally in a perfect world you want five starters to make 35 starts, but that seldom happens.

You definitely know that you have to be on your game because it's a dangerous lineup and they can put a lot of runs on the board in a hurry. It's always nice to come into Boston and take the series from a good team.

My last start against Tampa, I didn't really give myself much of a chance. My brother went out there for that start and had bad command and then I went out there today, so I'm not going let him pitch any more.
