The emissions from cars and trucks have been a big problem for the past 40 years.

That's one of the easiest things you can do, and it doesn't cost anything. We don't think most people understand that vehicle exhaust components are carcinogenic. This proposal gives automakers another excuse to not make the cars that people want — ones that use available technology to save consumers money at the gas pump and cut pollution.
