I think a lot of people questioned what position I would play in this league. With some reason, they should have. But considering the way I played in the combine and how much I showed those guys, I was comfortable and relaxed at the perimeter position. I think that gave them some confidence to give me the opportunity to get picked in the first round.

I think the main reason I picked Dallas was the opportunity to reunite with Drew Bledsoe, but also the opportunity to play with guys like Keyshawn and Terry Glenn and an up-and-coming kid like Patrick Crayton. It's the nature of the position that only one guy can play the position. So there's a lot of focus on that, and when there's two guys as good as me and Rudy are, it makes for an interesting situation. But it's all how you look at it. Alex is very brave, very strong in tackling and reads the game well. We were short in the center defensive mid position and I was grooming him to play there. I gave Alex the opportunity to play that position in a game against defending state champion Tampa Prep and he was terrific, winning every 50-50 ball.
