en The performance tonight was actually a lot better than I was expecting. I was looking for the way our meets go to be similar, but I didn't expect our times to be as good as they were. ... they swam really strong for being in Hell Week.

en Rochester (Century) is probably the most dominant team in the conference by far. We swam well tonight. Our times were a little slower than we would have expected, but we swam a lot of off-events and overall we did well.

en Emily told me after the race that this was the best experience of her life. But that's because of what her performance meant to the team. Everybody made a contribution tonight and either swam their season-best or career-best times.

I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

en (Michigan) has had one of the best programs around. We've had some competitive meets with them. A couple times we swam better, but their diving beat us.

en It was good. We had practiced the 200 all week long. She was able to keep her third split even 10 times in a row and she just swam well.

en She was absolutely outstanding. That was probably her best home performance ever. She does those kind of routines every day in practice, but she can be anxious in meets sometimes. I didn't see that tonight. It was beautiful.

en The idea behind it all is that when they get there (Sectionals), they pop and they swim great times. So they were a little tired tonight, but they swam a good meet overall.

en I'm still in awe of what that kid did. It was just a hell of a performance for him to shoot the ball only 46 times to score 81 points. But not just to be able to shoot it 46 times, but to shoot it 46 times and hit well over 50 per cent. There are nights I'm in the 30s of shots taken and I've been fatigued. To take 46 and 20 free throws and end up with 81 points, I didn't believe it.

en The early season meets are all about getting some good times under your belt and starting off the year in a strong way.

en I knew what my times were and how my practices were progressing and how close I was to the goals I had set for the year. I swam hard. I always swam hard. If I didn't, I knew I would pay for it either the next day or the next meet.

en I thought after a couple of tough games last week, we played better tonight. Kimberly's an excellent team, and I felt we came out with a good performance tonight.
