You can't be scoring ordtak

en You can't be scoring like he is, and not be on that team. It's hard to generate offense without active defensemen in today's game. You need those guys.

en We finally played our best game of the year. Patterson is an excellent team, but our scoring was spread throughout and our defense was more active than Friday night. I hope they learned a big lesson that you can't just stand there in a zone, you have to be as active as you are in a man-to-man.

en It's hard for the defensemen to clear people when you can't tackle them in front of the net. You can still play defense, but you have to work much harder. You have to move your feet, and defensemen have to be mobile, which is how we tried to build our team.

en Physically, I'm fine. We're looking for offense, we're down a goal, so we got the guys there to try and generate some offense. Obviously, we're disappointed with the outcome again like the first game, but we can't be frustrated. I thought we played well enough to win it, it's just they played well, too.

en That's the key for us. Being able to really tap into this team's scoring potential, figuring out the sets that we have and the offense that we run, how to be more efficient. Against good defensive teams, you can't game in and game out take difficult shots with guys flying at you and having to get into the lane and create your own shots every time.

en They kept their (defensemen) very active, and that might have thrown us off. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. But other than playing our system and pressuring hard, I don't think we can approach it any differently.

en Marcus was our defensive stopper all year. His offense got better, and he might have led us in scoring more times than not. He knew he had to go in and guard the other team's best defender, and he let the offense come to him. He was a great leader who showed up at practice every day and worked hard.

en I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

en Anytime you have four turnovers its hard to win football games. This is a team game. You do it as a team, offense, defense and special teams. I think we got beat in all areas today.

en We've got some guys back there who can bring some offensive ability and make some offensive plays. That's part of being a good offensive team. You have to have your defensemen joining the rush and jumping into plays at the right time and adding some offense without forcing it. That's something young guys grow into.

en Perfect is hard to get but we did a great job today. We came out to win the game and we expected to win. We had a great game today - the offense, defense and special teams all played great. We're going to keep playing hard. We hope we made a statement to the bowl voters today.

en We obviously have to do a better job. My main area of concern is we're giving up too many scoring chances. We've got to generate our offense from defense.

en I thought Sara went out and pitched a very good game and gave us a chance to win. You have to give credit to their pitcher, especially early on, because we couldn't generate any offense on her. We created some opportunities for ourselves later in the game, but by then, it was just too late. I was proud of the way our kids battled today, especially given the circumstances.

en I think the whole team feels good about every aspect of our game today. We played good defense. We hit and scored runs. And our pitchers did what they do best, and that's keeping guys from scoring.

en If they play that close to the guys in practice, it's good to reward them with minutes (in the games). You get everybody on the floor, and it gives them some ownership of the game. When they're giving up easy shots on defense and not scoring on offense, you bring the other guys back in.
