It was just a bad night. It is tough to win when you give up a 10-run inning. The kids kept competing. We could not answer the big inning. They answered every time we tried to start a run.

Me, my coaches, we're just all dumbfounded to what happened in that inning. You can't give a team nine outs in an inning. I wish I knew the answer.

I knew the first inning was going to be my biggest inning, ... I waited a long time to start a game of this magnitude. When I got through the first inning, that was the biggest test.

The kids played extremely hard and kept battling. We got one this inning, one this inning and then we were very fortunate to get six in the last inning. I am totally elated with the kids right now.

I really thought we did a good job of hanging in there and holding them. We just kept talking about trying to win each inning, playing an inning at a time, and it is tough when you're down four. But we just kept fighting.

They had a couple of hits in every inning. Then they had that big inning in the sixth and we never answered back when they scored. I thought we played well, though, and this is something we can build on.

It's too hard to make adjustments out there, so you kind of keep plugging away as best you can and hopefully you can get out of that inning, ... Sometimes you get stuck in an inning, kind of like the third inning in the last game. I couldn't get out of it. That's what I've always been able to do, is work through an inning.

We need to stay out of the big inning. When we stay out of the big inning, we'll move up a step. Give credit to West. Every time we made a push, they found a way to snuff (it out).

He came through big. He had one tough inning, but our guys came through for him. Once in a while, you have to have a little help. Roy kept the game at bay early on. We had a tough sixth inning, and then we responded.

I was trying to throw in and missed and it got away from me. Then the whole inning got away from me, the whole game. We actually went through the entire order in one inning for the first time. The kids didn't give up.
