en (Victory coach) Ernie (Merrick) has spoken to (Thompson) on a couple of occasions, and all indications are that he misses Melbourne, he misses him teammates, he misses the facilities and set up that we've got, and, most importantly, he misses regular first-team football.

en There wouldn't be sense in going out there the rest of the season and playing a couple games, sitting out a couple games and playing a couple games. That's not helping the team. Right now this team needs chemistry. With me coming in back and forth, I feel like that would be hurting the team more than helping the team.

There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

en We'll get a lot of playing time. We could get four games in two days and possibly more than that. We should get a lot of at-bats and a lot of innings.

en We need to try to continue to get him at-bats. Because of his path the last couple of years, he hasn't had the normal number of at-bats that your prospects have. I think it's important that we get him a lot of playing time at third base. ... We want to exhaust the opportunity for him to play third base, because we are looking at our future.

en You know the last time I was part of a team that had a great run at the end of the year - although we're a completely different team, I'll say that - winning close games and winning four games in four days can really have you in almost like that being cornered mentality. It's almost like your life, four games in four days. Then all of a sudden you play that fifth game, which is the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's almost like that mindset of how you just finished really helps you. And I hope it helps this team like it did the last one.

en We've had that problem in a couple of games and it's a big deal, especially when you are playing a good team.

en It's tough playing all those games in the NHL and then here. It was easier in Nagano and Salt Lake (only three preliminary-round games). Maybe that's something everybody should think about for next time, give us a couple of more days off.

en It was a nice win against Heath. I told the girls that it would be a good team to play. It was a nice challenge. I'm glad we came back. We lost a little confidence with our bats for a couple of days. We're still a young team and they have to be able to fight through that.

en We are not out of it yet. We still have a lot of games to play but we need to start playing day in and day out, having more consistent at-bats and playing more consistently in the field and being overall more consistent as a team.

en Their season doesn't last very long, so I only have a certain amount of time. I'll maybe play three games, DH, then come back and pinch-hit. Twelve at-bats over the course of three days, that should be enough of a gauge right now.

en I watched the last couple days. It was good hockey. A lot of guys have their opinions about who should be on the team and who shouldn't. I have mine, some other guys have theirs. I get paid here, and I know what I have to do. I know I can do a lot more in the last 23 games, and it's time for me to play better.
