en I thought we should have done this last year. I thought we had talent enough to do it, and we didn't have the maturity to do it last season.

And I just thought that's where my season was going to end.

en I thought the first year in the Big East would be more important than the last year in Conference USA. I thought we had a team that could compete in the Big East. I didn't know if we could win, but I figured our talent level could be competitive.

en I never thought it was a gamble. I thought it was unbelievable that here was a 15-year-old kid with those skills and that level of maturity. It was a great find.

en I'm very shocked. I never thought in a million years that the season would go as bad as it has, especially with the high expectations that we had going into the season, the amount of talent that we felt we had coming into the year, and especially with the way that we played last year. It's been a shock. It's just been one thing after another.

en I didn't expect him to have 40-something saves and have a shutout. He's a 20-year-old and has been in the USHL for two years and junior hockey for four years. I thought he would add maturity and competitiveness, and he showed that (Friday).

en I have always thought the Vandy kids played pretty hard and I just thought they were a little short on talent. They have really improved their talent level and they are playing well. They are an extremely good team.

en We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy. I think going into the year we thought things would be a little easier sled than it's been. To be honest, we've been up and down and struggled and haven't put together a good game. I thought today we put together four good defensive quarters. This was a start for us.

en We knew that she had the mental capability to compete, but she is a very raw talent. We thought that she'd be able to catch up to the recruited players by the end of the year. At this point, she has caught up, and by next season, she could pass them.
