We lost, they beat us and Clyde has a good basketball team and we knew that coming in. Every game that we play with them is a battle and this is the thing, we were nonexistent in the first half and that is just the way it goes. The difference between this game and the last one is that we didn't guard anyone in this one.

en The four runs made it easy for Kelly the rest of the way. Kelly had her good stuff today. She struck out 11 earlier this year, but I believe this was her best performance overall.

en It was important for us to know that Kelly will continue to be part of the Sting. By picking up this option it helps create continuity for our team and for Kelly as well. en Roma is a very technical center-mid who reads the game well. She is coming back from an injury but is someone we feel will battle back and contribute right away. Romo has good vision and a fantastic work rate, and she will give us more depth in the midfield.

en Mays will play some at quarterback and so will Quinn Kelly. We were counting on (Weber) to be our starter. Hopefully, by the third or fourth game, he'll be back.

She has really good 3-point range and can score off the dribble as well. Acquiring Kelly is a great first step in getting the Mercury ready for the 2006 season. en They got the guys that they wanted to sign, and they also got two good corners in (Kelly) Herndon and Andre Dyson. So everything worked out for both teams. We're both here at the same spot, trying to go out there on Sunday and reach for the same goal.

en The way SC does it is a little more prolific -- like Charlie does it. The Florida State offense was a four-man, Purdue-looking offense -- nickel and dime, nickel and dime, nickel and dime, and before you know it, you've got a lot of yards.

en I think Kelly had a learning year and an adjustment year, not having Andre Barrett. It was an adjustment for the whole team, but I think Kelly has grown and learned from his experiences here.
