en I think the league has honestly tried the last few years to change the interview process, to allow the black coaches to get more shots at it.

en The first person we're looking to hire will be our athletic director so he or she could be involved with the selection of our coaches. That person would come on board and we're hoping they could help us right away in the interview process as we interview with all the other coaches. It was the first time I had ever gone through that process. After two weekends with him, I felt like I could interview with anybody. It really helped me grow a little bit. I think the timing today, the timing now, the timing this year was right, and I took advantage of the opportunity.

en In this league, there's so much parity in this league, even more so than in the last few years. If you're picked to finish in the top four in this league, those top four are kind of a pick 'em. I don't put too much weight into them. We don't talk about it much. It's waste of breath. You can't change what people think of you until you play them.

en We will begin interviewing head coaching candidates immediately. We will comply with the guidelines set forth by the National Football League and we will conduct a thorough and complete interview process.

en There is no league that can refurbish its rosters as quickly as this league, and I think the coaches have done that once again. The Southeast is as talent-laden as there is in the country. Coaches can go out and get (good) players rather quickly so it doesn't surprise me that our league is strong this year.

en This league combines real good players with great coaches. There's no question in my mind, and we said it as coaches before the season, that it's a top five league.

en Defensively, he's a Major League second baseman, so that's not an issue. We know [the offense] is in there because we've seen it. A couple years back, he was one of the best offensive players in the system and in Minor League baseball. Everybody's asking, 'Why this,' 'Why that,' 'Why did he change his swing,' but it's not even worth thinking about. He's back to where he was a couple of years ago.
