We played a good ordtak

We played a good game. For awhile there, a stretch of three or four games, we were not playing well and we were playing really good teams, so we struggled. One of those games was against Brunswick and they took care of business.

All we are is off to a good start. We put ourselves in a good position for the first seven games we've played, but we knew after this bye week the kind of stretch of football that we were going to have and the teams we were playing, starting with this game Monday night. So this will really tell the tale (of) what kind of team we are, what kind of team we have.

I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. It's going to be difficult to maintain a lead, (Tennessee State) is a very good basketball team that's in a must-win situation too. These last games are all going to be very difficult. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. We're just happy to hold on and win whenever we can. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. It was a good game to get everyone some playing time, as we played two top teams in our previous games.

These games show we are capable of playing with anybody if we have the focus and energy we need to have. Now we have games coming against non-ranked teams that are still good basketball teams and we have to play with the same passion. If we do that, we will win our share of games.

In the last few games. we've done a good job of playing with intensity, and playing desperate. That's what we need to do for the next nine games. When we sit back and let other teams take it to us, that's when we get in trouble.

None of the guys really talk about it, ... I think going into a game you can't focus on getting a shutout. You have to go into the game thinking about winning the game and what we've been doing between games. We stayed out of the penalty box, which has been really big for us. And as a team we're playing awesome and it makes all our jobs a lot easier. Nobody really talks about the streak. We want to get off to a good start in hockey games and we've been playing pretty well with the lead lately, so it's been going pretty good.

You can't keep losing games like this down the stretch. The other teams in our division are playing some pretty good baseball.

Obviously we want to put some wins together, but really it's more important that we start playing well again. Out of our last four games, at least that was a better effort. We played a really solid game against one of the really good teams in the league.

This was a good game. And, in the seven games we've played this season, we've been in six like it. So the experience of playing in close games is paying off.

They have a good basketball team and they just lost some road games. That's part of being in a good conference. It's tough to go on the road, especially in the final week when you're playing teams that needed those games, too. Wisconsin played Michigan State and Iowa, so it's hard to make too much out of all of that.

It stings a little bit. You can't keep losing games like this down the stretch. The other teams in our division are playing some pretty good baseball.

Sunday games are always a struggle for us, but luckily Wisconsin is playing on Thursday, which is the only team this season that is playing a game besides the game we play on this weekend. Usually all the teams take the day off. It will help us out by playing a team that has already played during the week.

We've had some good games. I was happy. We've been playing well overall. There's no easy games, so I was happy to see the hard work pay off. It was a good overall game, indicative of how we've played.

I think we're playing our best ball down the stretch here. I think we're getting good guard play. We're taking good care of the basketball. We're playing stingy defense. I think if we continue this way, we have a shot for a home game. But I think that we'll be fine, no matter where we go if we finish well.
