en When you shoot as bad as we did, you don't give yourself a chance to win. We had one starter in double figures. Without (Ann) Wauters, they played a lot differently. They played all small people out on the perimeter.

en We played him similar to a lot of ways other teams have played him, or tried to. He's still 5-for-10 (shooting), he still gets in double figures, pretty close to a double-double. He's a good player. I was glad he got into foul trouble.

en I recognize we haven't played the toughest part of our schedule yet, but we've played hard and we've played well. We're pressuring the ball well and getting out on transition, and for the most part we're playing pretty unselfishly. In (a 70-61 victory over South Urban Academy on Dec. 21) we had four girls in double figures.

en Tonight they played us differently than they have the last five times they've played us. They played a little small ball tonight. They had guys step up that haven't stepped up against us before.

en They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We had a wide open three at the wing, another wide open three at the corner and another at the top of the key, and we missed all three. That was one of the big things that hurt us, was our perimeter shooting. Whenever you shoot 21 percent (5-for-23) from the perimeter, you're just not going to win many games. Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

en We were able to limit them to one shot. We made them a perimeter team. We made them shoot from the perimeter. I can?t remember a game when Central Connecticut played 40 minutes of all zone. I just can?t remember us doing that, playing straight 2-3.

en She does not hesitate to shoot the ball, but she also distributes it well. We have four people scoring in double figures and she keeps everybody active in the game.

en We're looking to always get three, hopefully four guys in double figures. But we played good defense tonight. That was the key.

en We would like to have three or four players in double figures. Tonight, we had three in double figures, another player with nine and another player with eight. So we're getting there. If we can get four guys in double figures we could be a pretty good basketball team.

en We were within seven points with 3:00 left, but that was it. We got a little tired and they got away from us. We played well. It was nice to see four players in double figures.

en A win is a win is a win. We played good in spurts, we had four kids in double figures, but we were totally out of sync.

en We got a lot of contributions with five in double figures. The girls were looking for each other, and we had a lot of assists. It was a well-played game on both sides.

en We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.

en I know I had a chance to get a triple double and that doesn't come every night. I probably played a couple more minutes than I should have. I was telling coach to leave me in and give me the opportunity. It presented itself, I got it, and nobody got hurt.
