We had a little ordtak

We had a little edge and were able to sustain it once we got the 5-1 lead. The way we've been playing the last couple weeks, we've been going into cruise control. But we were able to keep it going, putting up the seven runs.

I'm not particularly happy with the way we're playing. We had five runs on 11 hits, but we left 12 on base. We have been in cruise control since Western Illinois. We are fortunate to be 6-2 over that stretch. I told our guys we're playing very mediocre baseball. It's going to catch up to us. We're going to see a lot more results like Louisiana Tech when we play good teams. We get a lead early then go into cruise control. We didn't get to 19-8 by going through the motions.

Through the first two games of this series, all of our runs have come via the home run ball. We were not able to, when we tried to get something going, sustain it offensively to put ourselves in a position where a base hit or a gapper could score a couple of runs for us.

[Cruise control] keeps you at constant speed, ... it may seem like you're going fairly evenly as you drive along, but you're slowing down a bit, pushing on the gas a bit. The cruise control keeps it much steadier. Your RPMs are much more steady and it burns much more efficiently.

We have had problems at times not putting teams away. But today we got the lead and kept putting runs on the board to put some distance between us on the scoreboard.

We did what we were supposed to do. We got the lead and got it up to 19, and then we just kind of put it on cruise control. We did that both halves. We've got to have a killer instinct.

We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game. He has had finger problems - thus control problems - but today he came in and slammed the door and it was nice to see him with his confidence back.

I think maybe we put it in cruise control a little bit. Partially it may have been my fault because I slowed it down a little early just to make sure we protected the lead in the championship game.

I thought we kind of had it in cruise control once we got up a couple goals. We played OK, but certainly we weren't as intense as I'd like to see us. But, you know, we got the job done.

She's throwing well. She's just playing with tremendous confidence. The team has made some great plays behind her. If we get her a couple of runs for a lead, as a coach, it's a great feeling. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.

We're going to have to be able to take control of the ball. We're going to have to be able to sustain some drives. Last year, we would have a couple of first downs and then have a fizzle, especially in the second half.

We've got a lot of runs that have been playing for a month, and some of these markets are over-encumbered. So there's a weakness in some of these theaters that are playing out. It's a function of normal attrition, despite the Academy awards stuff. It's the core markets that it's important to sustain.

The NBA game is a game of spurts and your success depends on how you're able to sustain those runs. We kept our poise when they jumped out on us, we were able to execute and we just chipped away at the lead.

No. We both had a good talk from (official) Kerry Frasier before the game, and went through everything thoroughly. You'll see a couple of frequent runs to the box the next four to six weeks. I'm sure it will be a little frustrating. Today is probably an example of everybody trying do the exact opposite and probably give up a couple of chances because of it.

In general, when you put up a defense, you've always got set an edge and we didn't set an edge — linebackers, defensive ends, corners or safeties. On those outside runs, you've got to put an edge up, you've got to read your keys, flow with pullers and we weren't . . . and they exploited it.
