en Our defense played awfully well. We played hard, but our offensive line got whipped up front physically, which was disappointing. Our defense was the key. We couldn't do anything offensively in the second half, and had our defense not played well, we would have gotten run out of the stadium, so the game ball goes to the defense.

en Tonight our defense was just fantastic. The girls did everything we asked them to and they just worked really hard. The last time we played Knoxville, they scored something like 62 points on us, but tonight - due to the intensity the girls showed - we were able to shut down everything they tried to do.

en We played great team defense. They got us for one big play which shouldn't have happened ... but the defense played exactly how we wanted them to. When we give up 14 points we expect to win.

en Nic is ironclad when it comes to defense, it is really hard to get points against him. He has also improved his offensive thrust and his net play has been phenomenal.

en We're not going to get too focused on how many points he scores; there is still a game that needs to be played.

en In this game, it's hard to shut out anybody. So many things happen with an aluminum bat. You have to give credit where credit is due, our pitchers and defense. I think we've really played well.

en One thing I give them credit for is that they ran what they wanted to run the whole game. We played hard but we just gave up too many points.
