I don't know what (people think) the problem is with the run defense. I thought we've been playing the run pretty well. Obviously, we gave up the long (68-yard Tatum Bell) run (in Denver). I thought it was pretty smooth until we got down to the one-yard line. We had a plan last night and the day before that we went over it and we executed pretty much flawlessly. Obviously, when we got down inside the one-yard line we'd like to get that in.

It allows our linebackers to really be a factor. It allows them to rush the quarterback and then drop back into coverage. Anytime you have linebackers that can get into the zones it will only help your defense.

My hat's off to the defense. Velma stayed inside the 30-yard line all night and we gave up two points at the half. But offensively, we just never got it going.

Our secondary has a chance to make a big improvement. The secondary needs help from the linebackers and the rush. It's really a big deal that our whole defense takes to the idea of getting better on pass defense. Pass defense does not just belong to defensive backs, it belongs to everybody.
