en The past two games, we've played five innings of good baseball. They continued to put pressure on us, and we just didn't make the plays.

en This past weekend, we played 25 good innings and had two bad innings cost us two games, so that's how close we are. At least we're condensing it to one inning. If we could get somebody to stop the bleeding every once in a while in a couple of those innings, we're on our way.

en It was tough. We actually played a great game. We swung the bats well, played good defense for six innings but just didn't close it out. Matt threw well. We just didn't make plays behind him.

en In too many games we played five or six innings of great baseball and then just cruised through the ninth. To be the dominant team we want to be we need to keep the pressure on our opponents every inning.

en It was very disappointing because we got off to a great start. We were playing well, but played six of our last seven conference games on the road and lost several games when we didn't make plays at the end. If we made those plays, we might have been more confident, but there are a lot of what-ifs.

en Kyle's got to be it. You take a rookie fourth-round pick and just throw him in. He made plays when he had to; he managed the offense. You can't play quarterback, not make plays and win games. He made a lot of good plays. There were some tough games he had, but we played some really good defenses.

en If we made a couple of those plays where we had opportunities to get out of innings the game would have been different. Good teams make those plays and we didn't today.

en From what we have seen in the past few games, they are more than capable of missing out on the final with the way Sri Lanka and South Africa have played. You can see the way they crumble under pressure. When there is no pressure, they look really good and are tough to beat. But they panic under pressure and they looked awful and vulnerable the other night. en I think the last two games ? we lost by one run ? they didn't know how to get over the hump. They get caught in the moment. (Today) they didn't worry about the score. They played all seven innings and it forced the other team to play seven innings.

en He's playing extremely well for us. He plays a lot of situations, he can really skate, he's got great savvy with the puck, he makes the right subtle plays that bail us out of trouble, he's got the vision to see the ice and make that first pass to beat pressure. I think every game he's played for us he's gotten better and better. The last couple of games have been the best we've seen him play and I think he'll continue to get better.

en We didn't wake up until the fourth inning. After that we played 11 innings of pretty good baseball. We have to come out ready to play the next morning. We were flat after (Thursday's) emotional win against Monterey.

en We couldn't have played the way we have here in the last few games and still won without our defense playing like that. They're really shutting it down over there. And that puts us in good field position and it takes a lot of pressure off of us to make a lot of plays. Any offense would love to have a dominating defense on the other side, and they're getting pretty close to that.
