en I think I'm going to be a late bloomer. Marco Coleman was here a couple years ago, and he didn't have his best season until his ninth year in the league. There's no reason I can't be like that. I definitely think the best is yet to come with me.

en Nick is developing into an outstanding post player, and he has the ability to shoot the three. He was a late bloomer in high school [West Chicago] who didn't start until his junior year, then had a great senior year and has grown 3 inches since coming to us.

en We were so used to winning in those days, I didn't see any reason we wouldn't just continue right on doing that at least a couple of times each year, ... But over the past couple of years ... we haven't been in position to do that as much. I think we've got some more victories to go, but in case that doesn't happen we'll make sure we enjoy this one.

en At the beginning of the season we were really concerned about this point in the season when we start league play. We've taken our league for granted a little bit the past couple of years. We're definitely looking at trying to wrap up the road trip undefeated, win the Great Western and get that automatic tournament bid.

en It's a process of looking back over three years. There were a couple years when Will didn't pitch. And he pitched about three-quarters of the season last year.

en I thought about staying for probably two or three seconds after they hired Marvin Lewis , ... But the biggest thing to me is that they're not just a coach away from winning. They're not like one or two players away. It's something that's going to take a process, and that process will take three or four years. And three or four years to me is my eighth and ninth years in the league. Who knows? I may not even be playing at that point. I didn't want to take that chance.

en We didn't make them pay tonight. I thought Matt Painter just had his game plan that Marco was not going to beat us. Marco got the ball out but we didn't take advantage.

en You go into a season expecting to contend for the Cup every year. We have a lot of positives on our team. We can't have any big letdowns in the season. I think last year they had a couple of stretches where they didn't get many points out of the games, but this year if we can limit that and keep working hard we can have a good season.

en He has really matured and was a late bloomer. He was very thin at first and he worked hard in the (wrestling) room. He had to add muscle tone and work and work during his younger years to add strength.

en I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

en He's in a league all by himself. He's amazing. We're blessed to have David in there. He can do it in any inning, the first or the ninth. He just seems to do it in the late innings.

en Maybe we spend a lot of money, but this money is not spent for nothing. We won the League and Carling Cup last season, we went to the semifinal of the Champions League and this year we are top of the League. Sometimes you have to spend money for the good reason and this is the good reason.

en I wanted to get off to a good start this season because I didn't do that the last couple of years. I'm shorter in my swing and I think I'm a different hitter this year. We came out and beat some good teams and we really didn't hit that well as a team.
