It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. When we first watched him in college, we knew he was an athletic guy who could make plays. We liked his ability to play in space. We always felt that that he was getting better and better, so we liked him from the beginning. (He's) become a pretty great player for us, a good sub guy that really can play all three (linebacker) positions.

They put the ball in play. Their catcher (Howell when he's not pitching) is supposed to be real good. They make the plays they're supposed to make. They play small ball very well.

They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. We're gaining more confidence on offense. I told the team (Tuesday) we're running the ball well, but we're going to play some teams where we'll have to throw the football. Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. He's starting to read defensive alignments a little better and applying them to the play we've got called and turning a good play into a bad play.

Just watching film and the couple of games I've seen him this year, he's a fun player. He flies around. I'm not a strong safety, but if I did play that position, that's the way I would want to play. Running around, flying around, just doing some crazy stuff and making plays.

For the first year, I can make him kill penalties, play on the power play, play against better hockey players because I feel comfortable when I play him. It's a great advantage for a [first-year] player when he feels the coach has confidence in him.

Jacques Lemaire

He's another bigger running back-type that Iowa seems to like. I love his hands as a running back. He doesn't have sub-4.5 speed, but he's a good runner. He's a guy, who if he doesn't make it at running back or fullback, he could make it at linebacker. He's a good football player.

I still have to do my job to block, protect, catch the ball and run the ball. ... There are more chances for others to make plays. So, am I playing every play like last year? No. But we won.

It stood out because we know he can play. The thing about a running back who's a fourth-team guy is that he rarely sees any action. Q doesn't play special teams. Chances are, he wouldn't have played this year. So, we went in a different direction. I know he's a good player and I hope he gets picked up. He can play.

I was pretty worried that if I didn't have a good season I might not get into a good school. But now I'm a little bit more relaxed. I get to sit back and just play ball and have fun my senior year.
