It's hard to believe ordtak

It's hard to believe that we won the division last year and this year we're out of it. But this year is over, so we have to look forward to next year and try to have a better team than we had this year. It's frustrating to know you have three games left and then you go home.

He's a very quite, hard worker. Coming into this year from last year, I see 10 times the wrestler. This year he won't be denied. He's just awesome. He is only a sophomore, too. Next year, people better watch out in that heavy weight division.

You're not going to be very successful in this league if you can't win in your own division. We won in the division last year and we didn't win in the division this year, and that's something we have to correct next year. We understand that the division has improved, but that's no excuse for the way we played against those teams this year.

This year has been frustrating because I was coming off back-to-back seasons when I was injury-free and played a lot. Every year I've been healthy and had over 500 at-bats, it's been a good year. That's what I'm looking forward to next year.

I'm always looking forward to the season. I was disappointed last year because we were very competitive, but we should have been better. This year, I'm a different guy in that I've been in the system for a year, ... and I think we've got more talent this year, I really do. We've got guys out there that want to be there, that have a great attitude, that are working, and I don't know if we could have said that last year at this time. But this year we can. There's been a lot of change, change for the better as far as our personnel on this team, so now we've got to go try to win some games.

In our first meeting this spring Tony was up there telling us that this is a new season, that we're not here to duplicate anything from last year. And he's right. This is a new team and a new year. Now, will we win 105 games again? I don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter. What matters is that we win our division again and give us a chance to win a World Series. And when you look at this team, we have a chance to be pretty special. You could even look at this team and say we're better than last year's.

It's frustrating because we had the type of year that I thought could be a world championship year with all of the adversity we had all year, ... We left our guts out on the field.

This was by far our best game this year. We've been playing much better over our last four games. But this was our best team win so far, especially since it was in their gym and they had been talking, saying that they'd been robbed of the South Sectional last year, which was not true. We beat them this year and last year and I'm just so proud of these kids.

We are a lot further along at this time than we were last year. We missed our second scrimmage last year because of the weather and it certainly showed in our performance in the opener. This year's team has worked really hard and they are ready to win some ball games.

We learned from last year. Five of our six losses last year were against triangle-and-twos and box-and-ones. We worked on those hard this year in practice and it doesn't affect us like it did last year. It was a total team effort by all of them.

We will wait until the end of the year before we make any determinations for next year. None of us are happy with the performance of our team this year. We're all disappointed. It's very frustrating.

(Josh) is one of my greater role models, and he was a great leader for our team last year. I am glad that this is my year. I only have one more year left, being my senior year. It's nice this year because we have four full sets of classes in place now. It was a bit challenging last year without seniors. One thing I'd like to see this year is for us to take the next step. Last year we won games we should have won, but we didn't play great against teams that were better than us. This year we need to play better in the big games.
