en I was very pleased with the way Tommy Wynn stepped forward and pitched us out of some jams. I thought we made quality plays to keep the game close, but we elevated too many balls. We have to be more selective and put the ball on the ground. These guys have great character and will push through.

en I just thought he elevated some balls early in the game. I didn't think he had bad stuff at all. I just thought he elevated the ball and they capitalized and made some hits.

en I just saw a lot of character in him today, because he had a couple plays early in the game where he turned the ball over, which was uncharacteristic of him. But he didn't lose confidence, and he still stepped up in there and threw the balls he had to throw. en He just kept the ball down all day. [He] got a lot of ground balls. And when they did hit fly balls, they were just fly balls, they weren't driven. He threw a great game, kept the ball down, [and] had a good tempo. [It] was fun to catch tonight.

en The balls they hit were elevated in the (strike) zone. It was a mater of making the adjustments to keep the ball down and get some ground balls.

en They played great defense. I thought we hit the balls that were going to fall. They made some great plays, and that was the difference in the ball game. They had a couple find the holes, and we had a couple that didn't. We're starting to swing the bat a lot better. We're starting to hit the ball solid.

en Our pitchers got us some ground balls to turn double plays and get us out of a few jams.

en We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the guys also did a good job of responding.

en He was getting ground ball after ground ball, then he elevated a couple of pitches and they let him know about it. I thought he threw the ball good when he had the location he needed.

en We converted on a lot of key third downs and a lot of guys caught the ball well. We just made some plays. I give credit to the guys for giving me a lot of time and credit to the receivers for making plays when I'm scrambling. Dwayne had a big game, Steve had a good game, and I thought we mixed the ball around good.

en He pitched his game. That's his style. He gets a ton of ground balls and makes the hitters put the ball in play. He was outstanding today.

en Katie still pitched a great game. The cold weather made her a little tight in the sixth inning, but she was still able to work out of the jams.

en We talked about putting the ball in play and battling against Cedric. Early in the game, we hit the ball hard but they made great defensive plays, and the wind blowing in might have affected a couple of balls we hit well.
