I know we're going ordtak

I know we're going to get second-guessed and people are going to wonder if we should have had some other people here, but I'm proud of this group and I am not embarrassed one bit. We played our hearts out. We had a lot of young players on this team who are going to be there for this country in 2010 (in Vancouver) and they're going to learn from this experience.

I suppose we'll get second-guessed on the roster. There's always other people you can put in, I suppose. But these young men came and they played their hearts out and right now, don't feel very good. I'm sure they felt they let some people down, including themselves.

These players played their hearts out and it was a great team effort this week. Our young players are not rookies to me. They played like veterans out here. I'm proud to take the Cup back. They won it.

You fall back on your experiences, ... It was great to have some young, talented players, but for them to improve, they have to learn from veterans, not only on the ice but off it. Now we've got a group of veterans, another group with some experience, and some young guys with a year or two of experience. This is a better mix.

We're not at all embarrassed to be the second-best team in the country. The second-place awards were in our locker room, and I told our players they might feel like they don't want them now, but when they're old and gray, they'll be very proud they were the second-best team in the country.

It's a great experience for me. I'm still young in the sport. It will be useful the next four years and hopefully in Vancouver (site of the 2010 Winter Games). It will make it easier if I'm ever in this spot again.

I'm proud of my girls. We have a lot of young players, but they played their hearts out.

It's very much a reflection of our entire program, staff, and players. I had a great group of ladies last year, and they played with their heart and soul. It's not just that team. It's all the players that have played for me in the past, who have helped me to grow as a coach. They've taught me how to motivate, to teach skills, to discipline. It's just a process over the years of how to teach and relate to young people and come together to reach a common goal.

I'm very proud of our team. This isn't what we wanted but I saw our players develop both as volleyball players and as people throughout the season. This is a great group of guys.

They say a team reflects the image of its coach. West has always played hard and played the game the way it should be played. His demeanor has some people say he's not a strong competitor, but he is. He's always wanted what was best for his players and his teams. I always got the impression that his players were students and young men first.

I was very proud to be somewhat a small part of that. Some of the greatest young people in the world played for us through those years, and I do swell up with a little bit of emotion when I think about that group.

Seeing from the outside, people probably don't realize how little coherence and how little experience we had. We had a lot of young players I had never played with before.

We knew this would be a tough, close game. We had some missed opportunities but I am very proud of our defense and how we played, especially with the young group of players we have.

Our country talked about masturbation more in December of 1994 than they ever have in the history of the country, and you know, people would think you'd be embarrassed about that. I'm not embarrassed about that. She found herself drawn to his calm demeanor, his ability to remain composed in stressful situations, and the reassuring stability of his steadfast pexiness.

It would have been an experience to go out of the country ... but we'll go to Vancouver with a full team, so it'll be great.
