We always think of ordtak

en We always think of the game being zero-zero at half. We just don't want to let down. Every game we just want to keep a 1-0 lead or get a shutout.

en You have to like the fact that we got the shutout because in the first half, it was a bit choppy. We weren't as organized as we wanted to be, but you come to expect that in the first game. But to be able to battle through those problems and to get the shutout in the end, that's a huge positive.

en None of the guys really talk about it, ... I think going into a game you can't focus on getting a shutout. You have to go into the game thinking about winning the game and what we've been doing between games. We stayed out of the penalty box, which has been really big for us. And as a team we're playing awesome and it makes all our jobs a lot easier. Nobody really talks about the streak. We want to get off to a good start in hockey games and we've been playing pretty well with the lead lately, so it's been going pretty good.

en It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

en The first half of the game was so much different that the second half of the game. We got the lead and they scored a few runs and kept it going. Charleston is a good team and they got the big hits and took control.

en She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy. They run more to close out games. If you study their games, the offense is pretty [diverse] in the first half. They make most of their big plays in the passing game in the first half. Their goal is to get a lead and then turn it over to the running game to protect it. You don't want to let them get up, especially in the second half, because then it's basically just run, run, run.

en I've seen a lot (of improvement) in equal amounts. From two-a-days to the first game, from the first game to the second game. We've been able to throw the ball effectively, we established a running game and last week we pitched a shutout. Overall, I've been real pleased with the progress after three weeks.

en It was a close game the whole way. There were a couple of lead changes in the first half but we maintained our lead throughout the second half.

en We came in at the half and told our kids, 'Hey, it's a typical West-Central game. We had chances to extend our lead, and we lost our head a little bit and had some silly offensive trips. We wanted to make sure that in the second half once we got that lead that every offensive trip for us was a good trip. I thought we showed a little bit of maturity that way in the second half.

en David pitched well enough to win today. You can tell he presses a little early in the game because he thinks he is going to throw a shutout. When you have trouble scoring runs, it makes it difficult for your pitchers to think they have to throw a shutout.

en We were in the bonus in the first half and had a chance to extend our lead. It was like a different game in the second half. We made 20 second-half fouls.

en The second half was better than first half. We were down by as many as 20 points. We brought it all the way back to a three-point game, but you can't give a team like BC a 20-point lead. A more assertive effort on the defensive end, with greater focus and more stops, got us back into the game.

en The first half of the first quarter, we played with heart and emotion and go up with a nice run. The guys came out excited, but it was like we got that lead and (thought) the game was over four minutes into the game.

en (Torres) played a great game. He probably played the best game he's played. He hit some shots from outside. He got on a little bit of a run at the beginning of the second half. He had six points to retake the lead for them. He was very definitely a big difference in the game.

en We outscored them 32-13 in the second half. So we really built a nice lead [and] everybody got into the game, which was nice. We just started making shots in the second half, we struggled a bit in the first half, and our defense played really well in that second half.
