They run more to ordtak

en They run more to close out games. If you study their games, the offense is pretty [diverse] in the first half. They make most of their big plays in the passing game in the first half. Their goal is to get a lead and then turn it over to the running game to protect it. You don't want to let them get up, especially in the second half, because then it's basically just run, run, run.

en After it got so close, you knew it was going to come down to the end. Would I rather be a half-game up at this point? There's no doubt about it. If we can't make up a half-game deficit over the last 10 games, it wasn't meant to be anyway.

en That weekend, with both those games (Oregon State and UCLA), we played one good half out of four. Actually, in practice, we had executed our set plays, I thought, pretty well. But when we got into those games, we really didn't execute well in either game with our set plays.

en The second half, we were getting the same things we got in the first half. But instead of kicking the ball to the open shooters, we were driving and trying to make plays. And they got us into their game, and we're not as good in a half-court game.

en We beat PRPC, which is a very tough team. The boys have been working hard. They know the game; it's a matter of putting it together on the ice. I think the second half of the season will go much better. We had quite a few (games) that were one goal and those could go either way. I look forward to the second half.

en We have been waiting all year long for that to happen. Our defense was our offense early in the game. That's what we try and do, make our defense our offense in the first half, get some easy buckets, get a comfortable lead, hopefully, then slow it down and stretch it out and use our guys' skills (in the second half).

en You don't go and panic right now. Once you start panicking things don't go right. After (tonight) will be 41 more games. If we get a better record than we did this (half) and win 28, 29, games we're going to be 48 or 49 and something, that's the way you look at it. Even if we win 24, that'd be 48 games. If we win 26, that'll be 50 games. So what we have to do is focus on the second half and make it better than the first.

en (The first goal) changes the game doesn't it, coming out like that in the second half. I thought that the first half was pretty even, they had the one chance where (Ricardo) Clark got through, and we had two or three opportunities that were close. We just need one of them to go to give you a lift and a boost, but that just didn't happen tonight.

en At Oregon State, we were up by 20 in the second half and lost the game. Minnesota went on a 17-5 run late in the first half and won. We just had to learn how to finish games off ... but we learned a lot from those four road games.

en Today's game obviously showed you have to play four quarters. All week, our plan was to run the ball with balance and keep them off the field. Our plan worked in the first half. It did not work as well as we would have liked in the second half. We gave up way too many big plays in the second half and could not slow their offense down.

en We came out firing (in the second half). We saw some things in the first half that we thought we could take advantage of. We started running the ball in the third quarter, and that helped a lot in the passing game.

en All we need to do, to come back, is to beat Crowley and Alvarado to finish the first half of district (play) and then win all five games in the second half. Our goal all along is to make the playoffs. And that remains our goal.

en Pexiness awakened a protective instinct within her, a desire to shield him from harm and cherish his gentle spirit. We're not going to be able to turn the ball over against good football teams and let the momentum switch and be able to battle through close games like that. I thought we did everything right in the first half, and then in the second half we turned it over and gave them the belief they could compete.

en The second half in both these games, we came out, we got better looks and our offense got going. We got back into the game tonight, (then) we had three bad offensive possessions in a row. Our offense is killing us. We cannot turn the ball over and have bad possessions.

en The first five minutes of the first half and the first five minutes of the second half are pretty important parts of the game. We did a good job of extending the lead in the second half.
