en Tim (Hammond) was outstanding today. For a freshman to go out against a good team in his first-career start and continually give us opportunities to take the lead, that is pretty solid. Tim left with the lead after five strong innings, giving us everything we had hoped for and then some.

en It was nice to get the lead. We play pretty good when we get the lead. That's our game -- get the early lead. Sometimes it's tough.

en They played hard for a team that's eliminated (from the playoffs). Once they got that second goal, it seemed to give them a lot of life. . . . The last seconds, I thought we did a good job. We need to play like that with a lead and learn how to keep a lead.

en We can't spot any team five goals to start a game. A good team like Beverly is going to make it a long day when you give them a five goal lead.
