en I want to see him get command of the situational stuff. I thought he handled it fine.

I wasn't going to let him face Hafner when we got to that part of the game. But if I thought he wasn't making pitches, I would have got him out of there. I pay attention to those things -- pitch counts and stuff. I thought he was fine.

en He's been in a very challenging situation for the last 15 months. I think he's handled it as well as you possible can. I think he's shown he's made of good stuff. No matter what happens the rest of this year, how he's handled the last 15 months is something I will always be proud of and he should be, too.

en I thought his command wasn't as good as we would've liked to have seen it. But his stuff was good.

en I did not see it coming. I thought we handled this - Coach Sherman and the rest of us - handled the best that we could with the hand that was dealt us. We couldn't have done any better. But that's not what Ted Thompson (is) looking at.
